Occupational Health and Safety Awareness course for employees

As a new employee to government or the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) we welcome you and are excited to have you join our team of professionals. While serving Canadians is of paramount importance to our mandate, equally important is ensuring your health and safety in the process. In accordance with legislation and labour codes, every government department requires its employees complete an online health and safety course.

As you are required to take this mandatory training before or upon arrival in the department, we are providing a link to the online training course to help you “hit the ground running”. This link will take you to a registration page where you will be required to create an account. The steps required include:

  1. Clicking on the “Create New Account” button.
  2. Create a username and password (parameters provided).
  3. You can enter any current personal e-mail address where required – no DFO e-mail address is necessary.
  4. Complete all required fields and submit.
  5. You will have to confirm your account by clicking on the activation link that will be sent to your e-mail account.
  6. You will then have to return to the original Login page and log in with your new username and password.
  7. Follow all training instructions on each page.

Note: All training module questions are at the end of the course.
