Lobster_: Increasing the size of trap escape vents- Areas 19, 20 and 21_Notice to Fish Harvesters
Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region informs lobster licence holders in Areas 19, 20 and 21 of changes to fishing gear.
As announced at the 2020 and 2021 Lobster Workshop, the Department would like to remind lobster fishers in Gaspe areas 19, 20 and 21 that the size of the rectangular escape vent opening will be modified at the height level as of the 2022 fishing season. The new height dimension of the rectangular escapement opening shall not be less than 47mm.
The other management measures listed in the 2019-2021 Lobster Conservation Harvesting Plan (CHP) for Areas 19, 20 and 21 of the Gaspe-Lower St. Lawrence remain unchanged.
