Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Quebec Region announces the update of the vessel replacement rules for the groundfish ITQ fleets in the Gaspe-Lower St. Lawrence Area (Atlantic Halibut ITQ AMTG <45', Atlantic Halibut ITQ - Others Group <45', Atlantic Halibut ITQ - Turbot fishers under ITQ <45' and Greenland Halibut ITQ - Other than Lower North Shore - licence holders with an Altantic halibut ITQ from one of the 3 fleets mentioned above). Groundfish licence holders concerned are now allowed to use vessels with a maximum overall length of 19.81 metres (65 feet).

These new rules are effective immediately.
