Make a Historic Stop!

By
Naomie Girard

Champlain Boulevard now has a new rest area featuring the Canadian Coast Guard!

Surrounded by the cliff, Champlain Boulevard, the bike path and a rear facade of the Coast Guard base, the sidewalk strip is now covered with flower boxes, wave-like benches and navigation buoys.

Cyclists, pedestrians, runners and tourists who stop there will be able to enjoy a permanent photograph exhibition. On display is an archive of the history of the Canadian Coast Guard, from past to present. This is a good way to remind or even teach passers-by that a coast guard has been present in Quebec City since the 1700s.

Will you take advantage of summer to discover this piece of history?
