Fishery Announcement of the closure of the directed Greenland halibut fishery in NAFO sub-area 4Tq
Quebec – June 15, 2023
Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region informs fixed gear fish harvesters in the Quebec Region of the closure of the directed Greenland halibut fishery in Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) sub-area 4Tq due to high levels of small fish caught during fishing expeditions. This closure will be effective from June 20, 2023 at 6:00 pm (EDT).
Directed fishing for Greenland halibut remains prohibited in NAFO sub-division 4Tp due to high levels of small fish.
