The Regional Director-General of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for the Maritimes Region gives notice that Variation Order MAR-VAR-2025-072 has been issued to vary the gear for fishing recreationally for mackerel so that no person shall fish recreationally for mackerel with more than one fishing line to which more than three hooks are attached in Mackerel Fishing Areas 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.
Maritimes Region Variation Order MAR-VAR-2025-072 comes into force May 7, 2025 and is in effect until December 31, 2026 at 23:59.
